Celebrating Unity, Culture and Legacy of 104 Years: Agbedi Honours Late Chief Prince Isaac Penawou of Akugbene Kingdom.

The Minority Leader in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. (Chief) Fred Agbedi, PhD, joined prominent Ijaw leaders and stakeholders to pay their final respects to the late Chief Prince Isaac Penawou of Akugbene Community, Delta State, who passed away at the age of 104.
The occasion provided an opportunity to celebrate the remarkable life and legacy of the revered elder, while reaffirming the bonds of unity, culture and solidarity among the Ijaw people.
Rt. Hon. Agbedi and his entourage also paid a courtesy visit to businessman and philanthropist, High Chief Joe Penawou, Prime Minister of Akugbene Kingdom, and Hon. Kelly Kalanana Penawou, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Delta State.
Dignitaries on the convoy are, Chief Tunde Smooth, Elder Statesman, Rt. Hon. Julius Pondi, Chairman House Committee on South-South Development Commission Hon. (Dr) Kingsley Kuku, pioneer boss of the Presidential Amnesty, Program, Hon. Chief Michael Oyibo, Prime Minister of Tuomo Kingdom, High Chief Matthew Boro Opudu and other distinguished leaders, Agbedi’s presence reflected his deep respect for elders, traditional institutions and community values.
The gathering provided an important moment for reflection, solidarity and celebration of a life that touched many communities and generations.
Rt. Hon. Fred Agbedi continues to distinguish himself as a statesman of humility, compassion and strong cultural consciousness. Beyond his legislative responsibilities, his consistent engagement with traditional rulers, community leaders and people across the Niger Delta demonstrates a commitment to strengthening unity, preserving heritage and promoting peaceful coexistence.
