Maikaba Praises Bayelsa United Feeders After 3-1 Win in NLO U-19 League
Technical Adviser of Bayelsa United, Abdul Maikaba, has commended Bayelsa United Feeders for their 3-1 victory over Bayelsa Starlets Football Academy in the ongoing Nationwide League One U-19 Youth League at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa.
Coach Maikaba gave the commendation while addressing the players shortly after their Matchday 2 triumph in the NLO U-19 Youth League.
He said he was impressed with the feeder team’s performance, noting that the quality of football on display was evidence of the abundance of talent in the squad. He added that most of the players would be integrated into the main team in due course.
Maikaba lauded the players’ grit and resilience, describing the win as a confidence-booster that will set the tone for greater performances in the NLO U-19 Youth League and the season at large. He stressed that youth teams remain an important foundation for every club in the world.
The coach also donated the sum of one hundred thousand naira (N100,000.00) to the team for their performance in the competition. He urged them not to rest on their oars until they reach the pinnacle of their careers.
“The boys showed character today, and I am proud of their bravery. I watched the encounter from the beginning to the final whistle and I must say I am impressed. You will certainly grow in confidence and deliver even better performances as the competition progresses,” Maikaba stated.
Bayelsa United Feeders will next face Uchenna Kanu Football Academy of Akwa Ibom on Thursday, 20th August, 2026 at 10:00am at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa.
