Adeniyi Takes Independence Message To Nigerian Wrestlers Camping In US
The President of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation (NWF), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, has extended Nigeria’s Independence Day message of hope, love and patriotism to Nigerian wrestlers currently camping in the United States ahead of the World Wrestling Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan.
Adeniyi, who was represented by Hon. Ajibola Adetula conveyed the message during an interaction with the wrestlers as part of efforts to strengthen their morale and remind them of their responsibility to the nation.
Adetula said the gesture was an extension of his Independence Day engagement with athletes at one of the federation’s camps in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
He explained that it was important to extend the same message to Nigerian wrestlers based outside the country, noting that they remained an integral part of the national team preparing for the global championship.
Maintaining the federation was leaving no stone unturned in its preparations for the World Championships while urging the athletes to understand the significance of representing Nigeria on the international stage.
He noted that a strong sense of patriotism and national identity would further inspire the wrestlers to give their best and proudly fly the Nigerian flag at the championship.
According to him, athletes remain a critical component of the vision of the current NWF Board, stressing that the federation would continue to encourage and support them in every possible way.
“On behalf of the President, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, I want to say Happy Independence to you. He appreciates each of you for the sacrifices, commitment, and seriousness you have shown in training. Your commitment to the country remains a source of motivation as you prepare to compete in Astana.”
“You are an important part of the plans and aspirations of the NWF Board. He recognises your efforts and will continue to provide the encouragement and support you need to excel.”
“You have a responsibility to represent Nigeria with pride and give your very best whenever you step on the mat. Keep working hard, stay focused, and remain determined as we approach the World Championships.” he said.
