AAC Concludes Delta Governorship Primaries in Asaba, Unveils Candidates for 2027 General Elections

 

The African Action Congress (AAC), Delta State Chapter, has successfully concluded its primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections, with a strong turnout of party faithful, delegates and aspirants at the exercise held in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

The primaries, which marked a significant step in the party’s preparations for the next electoral cycle, attracted stakeholders from across the state, including aspirants vying for the governorship, National Assembly and Delta State House of Assembly positions.

Proceedings commenced with the accreditation of delegates and party officials before the formal opening of the exercise, which party leaders described as orderly, transparent and in line with democratic principles.

Speaking during the event, the Delta State Chairman of the AAC, Ogor Maxwell, urged members to uphold peace, unity and discipline throughout the process, stressing the need for cohesion as the party positions itself for the 2027 elections.

“We are here to elect candidates who will represent the ideals and aspirations of our party in the 2027 general elections,” he stated.

The exercise ended with the emergence of candidates across various categories, as all aspirants were returned unopposed to fly the party’s flag in the forthcoming elections.

Party officials hailed the primaries as peaceful, credible and successful, expressing optimism that the AAC is steadily consolidating its structure and grassroots support in Delta State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
