Chelsea star sent Villa demand

Former Aston Villa striker Tammy Abraham still keeps an eye on what is happening at his old club.

The Chelsea star is still a big hit with fans after his 26 goals fired Villa into the Championship play-offs back in 2019, when they were promoted at Wembley by beating Derby County 2-1 in the final.

Abraham returned to Stamford Bridge and starred under Frank Lampard the following season but his future at Chelsea is unclear with Thomas Tuchel getting a tune out of his players without the England international, who is currently out with an ankle injury.

Villa have been linked with a return for Abraham this summer, while West Ham United have also been named in the national press as potential suitors of the former Swansea City and Bristol City loanee.

Villa fans go nuts as footage emerges

Villa striker Wesley Moraes has made his long-awaited return to match action.

The Brazilian international played 45 minutes of a friendly against West Bromwich Albion on Friday.

Wesley has been out injured since New Year’s Day last year, when he suffered extensive knee ligament damage in a 2-1 win at Burnley.

He has been working to return from injury and has recently been training with Dean Smith‘s first-team.

Star reacts to ‘surreal’ goal

Villa midfielder John McGinn was back in the goals in spectacular fashion on Thursday night as he scored a dramatic overhead kick to grab Scotland a point in their World Cup qualifier against Austria.

Steve Clarke’s side looked to be facing defeat in their opening game as they bid to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

But with his nation 2-1 down in the 85th minute, McGinn ended a personal goal drought when he saw his acrobatic effort nestle into the back of the net.

Southgate slamed over key Villa star decision

Gabby Agbonlahor is surprised that Tottenham man Eric Dier got into Gareth Southgate’s England squad ahead of Villa centre half Ezri Konsa.

Dier has 45 caps for the Three Lions and has been a regular pick under Roy Hodgson and latterly Southgate. He’s played in defence and midfield in that time.

Yet the form of other Premier League defenders, including Villa star Konsa who has been in excellent form this season, has brought Dier’s inclusion into question.

Indeed Konsa has seen his centre half partner Tyrone Mings become a mainstay in Southgate’s squad, if not the starting XI, and most recently colleague Ollie Watkins scored on his international debut.
