‘With all due respect to Super Lig’ – Former Chelsea CB says Osimhen deserves PL or La Liga

Former Chelsea centre-back Frank Leboeuf has expressed his admiration for Victor Osimhen, insisting that the Galatasaray striker deserves a big move to either the English Premier League on Spain’s La Liga.
The Nigeria international has been the subject of interest from Chelsea and Manchester United in the past, but a move never materialised because of Napoli’s asking price and the forward’s wage demands.
Chelsea were ready to offer Osimhen a weekly wage of £130,000 before he completed a loan move to Galatasaray in September 2024.
It has also been suggested that Manchester United passed on the chance to sign the Super Eagles striker due to his commitments with Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations.
In a move few expected, Turkish champions Galatasaray activated Osimhen’s €75 million release clause last summer, making his transfer permanent following a successful loan spell in the 2024–2025 season.
Osimhen has since demonstrated that his talent exceeds the Super Lig, scoring 37 goals in 48 league appearances.
Speaking on ESPN FC, Leboeuf said: “I would love to see Osimhen one day in the Premier League or La Liga.
“With all due respect to the Super Lig, Osimhen deserves to play in the best league in the world, so the Premier League would be great”.
Osimhen’s seven assists so far this season mark his highest single-season assist tally since turning professional, underlining his all-round quality.
