Gov Otti Calls Out Opposition’s Alleged Abuja Meetings Aimed At Undermining His Administration
Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has alleged that opposition members are convening in Abuja and other locations with the intent to mislead the people of Abia through a campaign of misinformation targeting his administration.
Speaking at a swearing-in ceremony at the Government House in Umuahia on Monday, where he inaugurated the Chairmen and Deputy Chairmen of the state’s 17 local government areas along with elected councilors, Otti expressed concern over what he described as a deliberate strategy by opposition figures.
According to him, they are reportedly producing both fake and sometimes genuine documents to fuel propaganda.
While Otti refrained from naming any specific individuals, he emphasized that his administration remains undeterred by these actions, noting that similar efforts in the past have consistently failed to gain traction among the people.
“Let me leave a word for the so-called opposition who are gathering in Abuja and elsewhere with the sole intention to deceive people and distract this government.
“They have perfected a strategy to churn out fake and sometimes real documents for false narratives and propaganda,” he stated.
Drawing inspiration from a Biblical reference, Otti reassured his audience that these gatherings will not stand. “Just like the Bible assures, because these gatherings are not of God, they will scatter. Do not take Abia people for granted,” he cautioned.
The governor further challenged the opposition, questioning their chances of success in light of the improvements his administration has brought about in Abia within the last 18 months.
“You have done this before and failed. What makes you think you will succeed this time given all the transformation that has happened in this state in less than 18 months? A word is enough for the wise,” Otti concluded.
