Former Enyimba International Star, Chukwuemeka Obioma says nine months after winning the Nigeria Premier Football League top scorer award, he is yet to receive the statutory cash prize of N3.2 million naira from Eunisell Limited, sponsor of the prestigious Eunisell Golden Boot.
Obioma who scored sixteen goals to beat other players to the 2023 highest goalscorer award made this statement at the weekend in an exclusive interview with osprimetv from his base in Mistrata city, Northwestern region of Libya.
The Abia State born player insist that his decision to bring the unclaimed funds to the public is to clarify the management of the Nigeria Premier Football League of the development against public insinuation that he had received the honours prize last year from the Independent Chemical, Oil and Gas Engineering Solutions Company.
The 26 year old attacker who is currently playing for Al-bashaer FC Libya is confident of replicating his goal scoring prowess in the Libyan Premier League.
In his words “I joined Al-bashaer FC on a short deal during the January transfer window and I have scored two goals and had two assists from four appearances”.
He added, with hard work I am hopeful of finishing the season as the highest goal scorer in the North Africa nation’s top league.
Obioma Chukwuemeka had previously played Heartland FC of Owerri, Abia Warriors FC of Umuhia and most recently
Insurance Football Club of Ethiopa before he moved to Al-bashaer FC of Libya.
