Shooting Stars call for support ahead of next fixture
Ahead of Sunday’s match against Akwa United, Shooting Stars Football Club have solicited the continued support of their teeming supporters.
AllNews.ng gathered that both teams would square off on the matchday 24 fixture.
The chairman of the club, Babatunde Akoro also charged the supporters to come out in large numbers to cheer the team up against the Promise Keepers.
Shooting Stars will lock horns with Akwa United at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan. The Oluyole Warriors are unbeaten in their last three games.
“We seize this medium to express our appreciation to our supporters and fans, who have stayed behind us all this while,” Akoro stated in his address.
“We salute their patience, perseverance and their courage and we also hail them for the belief they have in the team.
“Come Sunday, we shall be playing host to Akwa United in a Matchday 24 encounter. We are looking forward to winning the important maximum points, but we believe strongly in the presence of our backers, hence our call on them to please, turn up in large numbers to, as usual, be our twelfth player.
“At this point, we will also wish to warn troublemakers and miscreants, disguising as fans of the club, to desist from acts, capable of putting the team in trouble.
“The act of using foul language, throwing missiles and attempts to attack any official or player, before during and after matches, are prohibited because they are against the rules of the NFPL.
“These behaviours will no longer be tolerated before, during and after our home games and anybody found fomenting trouble risks being arrested and prosecuted.
“At this time, when the team is gradually picking up, striving to get the desired results, we must not give room for any ugly incident that could distract the team, rather, the support should be stronger than before.”
