Enyimba FC defeated Bayelsa United 2-1 in their matchday 16 fixture of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Goals from Ekene Awazie and Chijioke Mbaoma cancelled out Israel Consul’s strike to earn Enyimba a vital away win at the Samson Siasia stadium on Thursday.
Ojo Olorunleke, the Enyimba goalkeeper, also saved a late penalty from Mizo Robert as the Peoples’ Elephant moved to fourth on the log and just three points adrift the summit with two games at hand.
