Heartland Queens attacking midfield maestro Oluchi Okwara has been named the GProject Woman of the Match (WOTM) in Heartland Queens 2-1 win against Dannaz Ladies of Lagos on match day 6 fixture of the NWFL premiership on Wednesday December 20th at the Dan Anyiam stadium.

The Owerri mainstreams overpowered their opponents from the nation’s centre of commerce, Lagos 2-1 on the day.
The Owerri Landladies’s goals came off the foot of duo, Chimebere Opara and super substitute, Chinwendu Orji while in-form forward, Omotoke Ogunfuwa scored her side consolation.
The petite midfield maestro said the opposite proved to be as hard as nail but determination and experience combined to swing victory for her side.
“Yes, we have more experience than them and that’s why we were able to hold on till the last whistle.
“They are good side but then we have the edge over them in few key areas and it worked well for us.
“I am very much excited for the game and GProject WOTM award, the game was tough but to God be the glory we won, it was an interesting game.
“We don’t respect anyone in the game of football, 90 minutes determine the winner, we were more determined and that’s why we won the match.
“I’m happy we won the game 2-1 and go into the festive breaks as leaders of our group, it’s a thing of joy to all of us,” said the former Osun Babes star player to the club’s media.
Okwara promised not to let down their fans when the league restart in the new year.
“We are going to put in more efforts to make the fans, state and team proud. We have a lot of goodies in our kitty in the new year,” said the no nonsense playmaker.
The Gproject WOTM award which was single handedly sponsored by the CEO honourable Ganiru Okoro is aimed at supporting and empowering the girl child through sports.
In another news, Imo born star and ex-super falcons player, Desire Oparanozie hailed Heartland Queens team spirit and never say die attitude in the game.
She encouraged the team not to relent in their aim for a remarkable season. She also gave out cash price to the Owerri landladies for coming out victorious on the day.
The Owerri landladies are going into the festive breaks as leaders of the group on queenly 11 points same as challengers, Nasarawa Amazons and Confluence Queens.
The Owerri topflight will conclude the first term campaign at Adamawa Queens when hostilities resume on Wednesday, January 10th.
