NNLMD6: NASARAWA UNITED CAPTAIN, OSANGA, TALKS TOUGH AHEAD WIKKI CLASH IN BAUCHI
As the Nigeria National League prepares to embark on Christmas break, Captain of Group C table-topping Nasarawa United FC, King Osanga, has voiced out his side’s readiness to maintain their position on the summit as they travel to Bauchi to face Wikki Tourists FC in a rescheduled match-day six tie on Friday.
United beat Yobe Desert Stars 2-1 in Lafia in their last game to reclaim their position on top of the Group’s standings, with King Osanga coming from the bench to score the decider.
The former Nigerian Junior International said, “Yeah, the game against Wikki Tourists is not going to be easy, but we approach every game seriously because if you want to promote to the elite league, there are no underdogs.
“You have to win virtually every game to stay at the top. We are in a tough Group because two other teams in our Group were in the Premier League last season, including our next opponents, and they would be doing everything humanly possible to return to the top-flight, but we are more determined to pick one of the four tickets available to gain promotion back to the elite domestic football league.”
The Solid Miners head into Friday’s game leading with ten points from five games whereas Wikki Tourists FC are 4th with six points and a game shy.
The Wikki Tourists verus Nasarawa United match comes up by 3pm on Friday, 22nd December, 2023, at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi.
