A renowned Niger Delta Group, the Ijaw Defenders Mandate (IDM) on Saturday congratulated the New Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Gen. Barry Tariye Ndiomu (Rtd) on his emergence as the head of 11-man special investigative panel on oil theft.
The Ijaw Defenders Mandate while congratulating and heaping praises on Ndiomu had stated that Niger Deltans are truly proud of Gen. Ndiomu.
This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Warri yesterday by Comr. Solomon Igbanwei, Public Relations Officer of the Ijaw Defenders Mandate, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide.
Speaking further, the group maintained that Gen. Barry Tariye Ndiomu (Rtd) has transformed the Amnesty Programme within a period of two months that he has presided over the office, stressing that his fight against corruption and bringing sanity to the Amnesty programme has brought him yet another tasking and important assignment.
However, IDM while assuring Gen. Ndiomu and the Amnesty Office the group’s readiness to render their support whenever the need arises, Comr. Solomon Igbanwei expressed optimism that Ndiomu as head of the 11-man committee to probe oil theft is no doubt the right decision and the best man for the job.
According to the group, the statement noted that Ndiomu has a clean track record of delivering positively to the admiration of all on any assignment given to him.
Nevertheless, IDM had appreciated the National Security Adviser (NSA) for choosing Ndiomu to lead the Oil Theft Probe Panel, stressing that he is the perfect man for the job.
While lauding the latest move, the group had called on Ndiomu to continue his move to uncover more alleged illegalities in the Amnesty Programme as well as delivering on his new assignment as head of the Oil theft probe panel.
Speaking further, Mr. Solomon Igbanwei had in the statement enjoined Niger Deltans to continue to throw their weight behind Ndiomu, adding that Ndiomu is already making Niger Delta and Ijaw nation proud with his excellent leadership.
