Amalgamated Oil, Gas Host Communities Of Nigeria Inaugurates Youth Exco
WARRI – The Amalgamated Oil and Gas Host Communities of Nigeria, Youth Wing on Friday August 19th 2022 at the Association Guest House in Effurun GRA, the headquarters of Uvwie LGA in Delta State inaugurated her National Youth Executives and their respective State Exco to pilot the Affairs of the youth group for the next four years.
The event which was well attended by members of the Youth Wing and General Assembly of the Parent body saw Comrade Festus Ogiegbaen emerging as the President, Comrade Sam Osung, Vice President, Comrade Onyewenu lsioma, Secretary, Comrade Erefagha Thom-Okoro, Treasurer, Comrade Edem Richard, Financial Secretary, Comrade Agadia Samuel Oghenegare , CLO and others who made the list of the Inaugurated Youth Executives of the Amalgamated Oil And Gas Host Communities of Nigeria.
Prince Dr. Mike Emuh, the National Chairman of Amalgamated Oil and Gas Host Communities of Nigeria, was ably represented by Hon Kukaye Foster. The Amalgamated Chairman in his opening speech commended the youths for imbibing the spirit of obedience to gather themselves, to collectively and peacefully elect their National and State Exco wherein he is on ground to inaugurate.
Hon Kukaye Foster in his representative capacity gave the youths a path on their shoulders saying: “l am proud of you because you have great ideas, a united front with which you can constructively engage the leadership of this country at the three tiers of Government from Local Government level through State to Federal Government.”
Hon Kukaye Foster, the Delta State Chairman while speaking on behalf of the National Chairman stressed that there is need for the youths to use wisdom in their quest to access all the benefits accruable to them within the ambit of the law without any use of brute force or violence to achieve their purpose.
Hon Kukaye who harped on the need for the Exco to carry their members along said: “As elected officials of the youth body l expect you to carry your followers at Local Government and State levels along, because if you make yourselves exemplary leaders you will have a good followership.”
Dr. Barrister Ofoyeju Okagbare Benjamin, the National PRO / Legal Consultant, Amalgamated Oil and Gas Host Communities of Nigeria who administered the oath of office to inaugurate the Youth Wing Exco in a brief but well laced keynote address, said: “My dear youths, I advise you to fight with your brain, and in doing that there must be unity, so that with your collective effort the youth body can achieve her dreams.”
Speaking further, he added: “As youths, l also expect you to bring inspirational ideas on the table of the National leadership of this our Association, and through these kind of collaboration and synergy we can truly transform Nigeria to become the Texas of Africa.”
Speaking further, he posited: “ l charge you, the newly elected Exco of the Youth Wing; both National and State to Work together to support the national leadership of our organisation so that our God-given blessings will come to pass.”
He added, “Enough of all these self-inflicted injuries in the past which are largely due to in-house fighting against the very people from whom we ought to draw our strength to face the fundamentals of the struggle.”
Prof. Egi, who addressed the youths as resource persons advised them to be worthy ambassadors of the organisation ready to carry the crusade of the information of the Amalgamated Oil and Gas Host Communities of Nigeria to every nook and cranny of the country, and to all and sundry.
He assured the youths that even though the mountain may seem difficult to climb, success is sure at the end of the tunnel.
Comrade Festus Ogiegbaen, the newly sworn in President of the Amalgamated Oil and Gas Host Communities of Nigeria thanked Prince Dr. Mike Emuh, the National Chairman, Hon Roland Tonwe , Chairman , Central Working Committee, Hon Akinola Ayodeji Arnold, National Secretary, BoT Amalgamated Oil And Gas Host Communities of Nigeria and —Alhaji Aminu Yusuf, Secretary, National Central Working Committee
Engr. Dr. PS Eribo , National Secretary, HOSCON , for their wonderful fatherly advice which he has been following carefully to get thus far up till the day of the inauguration of the youth Exco.
He promised to continue leading the youth Wing of the great organisation relying on the wise counsel of the elders, particularly that of the National Chairman , Prince Dr Mike Emuh.
Comrade Festus Ogiegbaen, the newly elected Youth President of the Amalgamated Oil and Gas Host Communities of Nigeria in his inaugural speech thanked all the Youths for their rare show of solidarity, even as he also thanked all Pipeline Surveillance Representatives, all State Chairmen of Amalgamated Oil And Gas Host Communities of Nigeria led by Deacon Friday Osazuwa , the National Women leader and other relevant stakeholders who have played one significant role or the other in the successful inauguration of the National and State Youth Exco.
Comrade Ogiegbaen assured all that indeed the youths are set to hit the ground running for the betterment of members of Association.
The youth leader in his conclusive statement observed that since the NNPC board composition was not proportional in terms of geographical spread, he appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari as a magnanimous father to all to consider the Amalgamated Oil and Gas Host Communities when it is time to constitute the PIA board.
