Climate tracker offers global COP27 journalism fellowship
Climate Tracker is inviting applications for its COP27 Climate Justice Journalism Fellowship.
COP27 is the United Nations Climate Change Conference. This year’s edition will be held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, from November 6, 2022, to November 18, 2022.
The fellowship will support 10 young journalists who will attend the in-person conference and report from Egypt, along with 12 young journalists who report virtually on the conference.
Early and mid-career reporters from developing countries who are interested in climate politics can participate in an in-person and virtual fellowship.
The program includes a one-month online training leading up to COP27. Fellows will receive mentoring and opportunities to work on collaborative stories with other reporters from around the world.
Fellows will also receive a EUR250 stipend, full travel and accommodation.
The organiser says, “We believe in the power of journalism, but we know that many young journalists don’t have the training, resources or support to tell the stories they want to tell.
“We know that this challenge is even greater in those countries most affected by the climate crisis.”
The deadline for the submission of applications is August 19, 2022. Interested persons can apply here.
