Pyramids have beaten Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien while Al Masry suffered an away defeat against AS Otoho in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Blues kicked off their Confederation Cup group stage journey with a home victory over Al Ahly Tripoli.

In the second round, Pyramids collected another three points by beating their hosts Zanaco to top Group A.

Al Masry had a convincing start as well as they tied with Coton Sport in Cameroon before beating TP Mazembe in Egypt.

Going into matchday three, both Egyptian representatives aimed for victory in order to take another step toward knock-out stages.

Ehab Galal’s men completely dominated their clash with Sfaxien, possessing the ball and pressing for a goal throughout the 90 minutes.

However, the Tunisian defenses gave their best to deny Pyramids the victory and they were close to grabbing a point but Ali Gabr’s injury-time header got his team out on top 1-0.

With the victory, Pyramids keep their place on the top of Group A with a perfect score of nine points from three games.

On the other side, Al Masry held their own against their hosts AS Otoho, but with two minutes remaining on the clock, Roland Okouri won his team the game through a header that found its way to Ahmed Masoud’s nets.

After their 1-0 defeat against Otoho, Al Masry are now second in Group C with four points from three games behind TP Mazembe who are two points ahead.
