The Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) has conveyed its condolences to the Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, in light of the passing of the state’s Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.
In a statement released by the National Vice President of YSFON, Mr. Kali Gwegwe, the prominent youth sports organization in Nigeria recognized the deputy governor as a dependable ally of the governor, significantly contributing to the state’s cohesive leadership culture.
Mr. Gwegwe reflected on the deputy governor’s invaluable support for initiatives related to youth sports development. He expressed a heartfelt prayer for divine strength for the governor, the Ewhrudjakpo family, the Ofoni community, the Catholic Church, the Faculty of Law at Niger Delta University where he served as a lecturer, and his political associates to endure this profound loss.
Mr. Gwegwe noted that although death is an inevitable aspect of human life, it is natural for individuals to experience pain when a beloved person passes away. The solace, as emphasized by the esteemed sports administrator, lies in the deputy governor’s significant impact across various sectors of society.
