World Military Wrestling Championship: Hannah Breaks Record 50-Year After

 

The Head Of Department Sports and Exercise Science University Of Port Harcourt, Professor Christian Elendu Commends Hannah Reuben After Breaking 50-Year-Old Record At 36th World Military Wrestling Championship.

The Head of Department Sports and Exercise Science University of PortHarcourt, Professor Christian Elendu has on behalf of the vice Chancellor, Dean and the entire University of PortHarcourt commended the achievement of Hannah Reuben a final year student of the varsity who clinched gold for the Nigerian Military at the just concluded World Military Wrestling Championship in Azerbaijan from 27 to 3 December 2023.

 

Professor Christian Elendu who gave the commendation in PortHarcourt on Monday said the achievement of Hannah Reuben is a testament to what the Department and the University at large stands for.

 

Professor Christian noted that the Sports and Exercise Science Department is into development of young Nigerians who have found interest in sporting activities.

 

According to Professor Christian Elendu the idea of the sports department is to offer both education and create avenue for interest persons to strive in sports without one area being neglected.

 

On her part, Hannah Reuben who won gold medal for the Nigerian Wrestling Military for the first time in 50 years expressed joy for the permission given her by the school authority to participate in the 36th World Military Wrestling Championship.

 

Hannah Reuben heaped praises on one of most prestigious universities in Nigeria, saying that it gives young people who seek education and Sports the platform to actualize their dreams.

 

The newly crowned Military World champion called on young people who are into sports not to neglect their education but look for institutions that can enhance such ambition like the University of Port Harcourt.

 

Hannah Reuben also lauded the efforts of her President NWF, that doubles as Commissioner for Youths and Sports Bayelsa State Hon Daniel Igali, Coach Victor Kodei, Coach Odi Godspower Geoffrey and Team mates as well as her International Military Sports Council – Wrestling Committee Representative Lieutenant Colonel (Dr) Femedein Timipre Okou for motivating her through necessary scientific trainings, who is an alumnus to sports and exercise science, Uniport.
