Why I exited Timaya’s record label, by King Perry
AFRO-DANCEHALL act, Anthony Offiah aka King Perry has revealed why he exited Dem Mama Records (DM records) owned by popular singer, Timaya.
The singer, in an exclusive chat with The Nation, said, “I’m signed to my label, continental music.”
When asked about what transpired between him and Timaya, he said, “nothing happened, we are good, my contract is done and it’s best for me to start doing my own stuff yeah because I have always wanted to do my stuff.”
Findings from The Nation showed that Patoranking and King Perry were the only music acts signed to DM records with Perry quitting after four years.
Perry became popular on the Nigerian music scene with songs like ‘Murder’ featuring Teni, ‘Man on duty’ featuring Timaya, and ‘Yawa.’ He has since released other songs that include ‘Go German’ with Bella Shmurda and ‘Backroad Gee.’
