When can Liverpool win the Premier League? Likely date as title edges closer to Anfield
Liverpool's gap at the top of the Premier League widened over the weekend after they beat Southampton and Arsenal drew with Manchester United and they could be confirmed as champions soon

Liverpool currently sit 15 points clear at the top of the Premier League and Arne Slot side are closing in on the title.
The gap between Liverpool and the rest of the league widened this weekend, with the Reds beating Southampton 3-1 and Arsenal dropping points as they drew 1-1 with Manchester United. Liverpool have just nine games left to play and no team has ever failed to win the Premier League with such a lead at this stage of the season.
In order for Arsenal to pip Liverpool to the title, the Gunners will need to win all of their remaining 10 games and hope the Reds drop points equivalent to five losses. Liverpool are also due to host Arsenal on May 10, but the title could already be wrapped up before then.
The earliest that Liverpool can be confirmed as champions is April 12 if they win their next two games against Everton and Fulham and Arsenal lose to Chelsea, Fulham and Everton and then drop points against Brentford.
If Arsenal lose their game in hand against Chelsea, but then match Liverpool’s results then Slot’s side will win the league with four matches left when they host Tottenham on April 27. If Arsenal win their game in hand and match Liverpool’s results then the Reds could claim the title on the weekend of May 3/4 when they face Chelsea.
There is also a scenario where Liverpool could be confirmed as champions with a win over Arsenal if that result moves them at least seven points clear with two games to go. However, Liverpool will not be presented with the trophy until after their final home game against Crystal Palace on May 25.
It would be the first time that fans will be able to watch Liverpool lift the title in-person for the first time since 1990, with their most recent victory in 2020 coming behind closed doors due to Covid.

Liverpool’s top scorer Mohamed Salah has previously spoken about his desire to win the title again so they can celebrate the triumph with the fans. “The greatest motivation is to win the Premier League, not even the Champions League because I always choose the Champions League,” Salah said.
“For seven years I always say Champions League, this is the first year I say the Premier League. I just want to win the Premier League with the city and the fans, and to experience that day and go on a parade in the city is going to be incredible.
“It’s going to be unforgettable because I know how much it means to win the Premier League.”
