West Ham handed deadline day blow with Everton set to announce Josh King transfer
Bournemouth have verbally agreed deals with both Everton and Fulham for the transfer of Josh King
Long term West Ham transfer target Josh King is on the verge of a move back to the Premier League after Bournemouth have accepted two offers for the striker.
The Hammers will be missing out on a man they have long coveted with Everton and Fulham both having verbally agreed deals with the south-coast club.
King has scored just three goals in 14 appearances this season but has not managed to get on the scoresheet in the Championship this term.
The Hammers reportedly had a £13million bid for King turned down by Bournemouth earlier in the transfer window as they sought a replacement for Sebastien Haller after his £20m move to Ajax.
The 29-year-old former Manchester United youngster was of interest to David Moyes in the summer transfer window, however, no deal was able to be concluded between the two clubs.
With just six months remaining on his contract the Norweigian international would have been able to join on a free-transfer from July 1.
But with Everton and Fulham both keen to sign him before the 11pm deadline it looks like West Ham will miss out on another striker.
The Hammers have been linked with a plethora of forwards throughout the January transfer window but have so far failed in their attempts to bring in a Haller replacement.
David Moyes admitted that he ‘needs’ another striker and that the club had had bids for ‘two or three players rejected.
Diego Costa was the latest name rumoured to be of interest to the club but football.london understands that deal is not one The Hammers will be pursuing.
As things stand Moyes will be heavily reliant on Michail Antonio as his only senior striker.
Winger Andriy Yarmolenko had a runout as the lone striker vs Doncaster in the FA Cup and untested teenager Mipo Odubeko made his first-team against Stockport in the third-round. Neither, however, is the experinced striker the manager wanted to add to his squad this transfer window.
