TUC Boss Commends Gov Diri Over Labour House Completion.

 

The chairman of the Trade Union Congress (TUC Bayelsa State council, Comrade Laye Julius applauded the Prosperity administration for fulfilling their promise with the building of a state of the art two-winged, one-storey Labour House in Yenagoa.

The complex, built by the Bayelsa state government was inaugurated by the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara as part of the activities to commemorate the Prosperity administration’s five years anniversary.

Addressing newsmen shortly after the inauguration, the TUC Boss noted that the gesture by the governor would significantly enhance labour-related activities in the state.

According to him, the edifice was not only a symbol of the government’s dedication to workers’ welfare but also a practical step towards fostering a better working environment for labour in Bayelsa State.

He explained that the secretariat enhances coordination, facilitates dialogue, and strengthens their capacity for effective representation and activism, reinforcing the importance of strong labour institution.

The TUC boss thank the commissioner for Labour, Employment and Production and his works counterpart for their unwavering commitment to the successful execution of the project, ensuring that it was completed to modern standards with quality materials.

He asserted that the labour house will now function as a one-stop center for trade union activities, providing a conducive space for meetings, policy discussions, and engagements aimed at advancing workers’ interests.

Comrade Laye who described governor Diri as a God-fearing, peaceful, and labour-friendly leader, opined that the state’s helmsman
has demonstrated consistency in addressing workers’ concerns despite the current economic challenges in the nation.

He added that labour would continue to collaborate with the prosperity administration, emphasizing that the labour community remains committed to work with the government to ensure sustained progress amongst workers in the state.
