Trump Spots Remi Tinubu At US Prayer Breakfast In Washington

…Describes Her As Respected Nigerian Pastor
ABUJA – President of the United States, Donald Trump, on Thursday, spotted Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, while attending the country’s national prayer breakfast held in Washington DC.
According to Trump, “We are honoured to be joined today by the First Lady of Nigeria (Remi Tinubu), who also happens to serve as a Christian pastor at the largest church in Nigeria, very respected woman…. it’s a great honour. Thank you very much”.
This development may help to douse some tension in Nigeria, given the designation of Nigeria as a country of Particular Concern by the US President last year.
With the spate of insecurity in Nigeria, the US President, Trump, had lamented that Christians were facing persecutions from the other prominent religious group.
He had threatened to salvage the situation if the Nigerian leadership failed to find lasting solutions.
The development had also prompted the Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu, to take drastic steps, some of which culminated in the reshuffling of the military architecture, including appointing former Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, as Minister of Defence.
The Nigerian government had allegedly engaged foreign lobbyists to help Nigeria redeem its image as a country that has great respect for religious tolerance.
