Thelma Agara Calls for Experienced Hands in Nigeria Football Reforms

Former member of the Nigeria Women Football Committee, Ms. Thelma Agara, has urged the National Sports Commission (NSC) to ensure that people with proven capacity, competence and experience are appointed to steer the affairs of Nigerian football at this critical stage of the ongoing reforms.

Agara, a former Secretary of Bayelsa United, believes the current situation presents an opportunity to rebuild Nigerian football with credible professionals who understand the game and have the experience required to deliver sustainable reforms.

She expressed confidence in the leadership of the National Sports Commission under Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko and Director-General Bukola Olopade, saying she believes the duo can provide the right direction for the development and repositioning of Nigerian sports.

According to her, the priority at this moment should be putting the right people in the right positions and ensuring that the interest of Nigerian football remains paramount.

“At this point in our football reforms, we need people with capacity and experience to steer our football once again.”
