Terrorists plan attack on Abuja Law School, Central Mosque, other targets in FCT
The Federal Capital Territory, Abuja is facing security threats as ISWAP, Boko Haram and bandit terrorists planned to attack Nigerian Law School, Bwari, worship centers and security formations in the nation’s capital, DAILY NIGERIAN can exclusively report.
On July 5, the terrorists attacked Kuje prison in the nation’s capital, freeing over 600 inmates, including 64 Boko Haram suspects.
A security report on an impending attack had forced the Federal Ministry of Education to order the immediate closure of all Unity Schools in the FCT and directed for immediate evacuation of students on Monday.
According to credible security sources who spoke to DAILY NIGERIAN on the condition of anonymity, the there is impending plan to abduct staff and student of the Nigerian Law School, Bwari by two banditry kingpins, Kachalla Ali Kawaje and Kachalla Dansadi.
Mr Kawaje, who controls hundreds of fighters in Kuyambana Forest, which stretches Zamfara, Kebbi, Kaduna and Niger States, was responsible for shooting down Nigerian Air Force jet on July 18, 2021.
The source told DAILY NIGERIAN that the terrorists had conducted a series of discreet surveillances to assess the security arrangement on the campus in order launch attack with deadly weapons, including rocket-propelled grenades.
The source also told this newspaper that another group of terrorists are planning to plant improvised explosive devices in open manholes around security formations, mosques, churches and public places.
According to the source, “Central Mosque, Abuja, was particularly targeted for attack”.
DAILY NIGERIAN further learnt that Boko Haram and Ansaru terrorists are also planning coordinated attacks in the capital city.
Quoting an intel, the source said there is increasing tension around Kawu Ward, Bwari
Area Council of the FCT, after terrorists were sighted around Gidan Mallam, close to Kuyeri forest, bordering Rinjin village of neighbouring Kagarko in Kaduna State.
The source further revealed that credible intelligence had revealed that the kidnappers and bandits terrorizing Bwari general area are camping on the mountains and caves behind Usman Dam, linking Ushafa to Mpape satellite communities.
“The terrorists have been mingling with the locals recently. They came on motorcycles from their camps to buy food and drugs in Ushafa and Mpape,” the security source added.
The source said unless serious security measures are taken to frustrate their plans, the terrorists may strike any moment.
Parts of the security measures advised during a recent security meeting are immediate replacement of the stolen manhole covers, ban on commercial motorcycles in the FCT and stepping up of surveillance on the outskirt of the city.
On Sunday, while stepping up surveillance around Bwari area, the terrorists ambushed Nigeria’s elite force, the Brigade of Guards, killing three soldiers and injuring scores.
