Easter 2026: Nigeria Wrestling Federation President Adeniyi Urges Unity, Sacrifice — A Message Resonating Beyond the Mat

The President of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, has extended Easter greetings to Christians worldwide, with a special message to those in Nigeria, marking the celebration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
In a statement issued on behalf of the federation’s board and wrestling community, Adeniyi described Easter as a period for reflection, symbolising the triumph of light over darkness and hope over despair.
He said the season highlights the depth of divine love demonstrated through sacrifice, urging Christians to embrace humility and a spirit of service to others.
Adeniyi, who also serves as Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, noted that Nigeria is at a pivotal moment in its history. He called on citizens to reflect the sacrificial values associated with Easter in support of national progress, referencing the government’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.
He added that the period offers an opportunity for all Nigerians—regardless of faith—to come together, renew their sense of purpose, and work towards a better future.
The federation president concluded by wishing Christians a peaceful Easter celebration, emphasising the message of life, renewal and hope associated with the risen Christ.
