Strong Show of Unity: PDP Adopts Fred Agbedi as Sole Senate Candidate for Bayelsa West Amid Massive Grassroots Endorsement.

Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Sagbama and Ekeremor Local Government Areas of Bayelsa State have endorsed Rt. Hon. Fredrick Agbedi, PhD, is the party’s sole candidate for Senate in the Bayelsa West Senatorial District election.
The endorsement was made during the party’s consensus primaries held on Thursday in Sagbama town, Sagbama LGA of Bayelsa State.
The party also adopted Chief Larry Koinyan Jnr as the sole candidate for House of Representatives in the Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency, while Hon. Ernest Atteh and Hon. Rita Ofunpuwei emerged as candidates for State House of Assembly in Ekeremor Constituencies 2 and 3, respectively.

Speaking during the exercise, the Bayelsa State Chairman of the PDP, Solomon Agwana, described the PDP as a grassroots-oriented party committed to its constitution and democratic principles.
He expressed confidence in the party’s chances in the forthcoming elections, citing the large turnout of party members during the primaries.
Agwana further described the candidates as credible and experienced politicians with strong grassroots support.
Chairman of the Primary Election Panel from Abuja, Dr Pabon Gbarabaribene, also commended the turnout, saying it reflected the PDP’s strong presence in the state. He added that the party’s candidates were competent and capable of delivering democratic dividends to the people.
In his acceptance speech, Rt. Hon. Fred Agbedi, Ph.D, thanked party leaders and members for the confidence reposed in him. He reaffirmed the party’s readiness for the elections and urged party members to mobilise support across communities and polling units ahead of the elections.
Also speaking, Architect Koinyan described his endorsement as a privilege and pledged to represent the interests of the people if elected into the House of Representatives.
