STATISTICAL ANALYSIS AFFIRMING BAYELSA SECOND POOREST STATE
Determination of poverty could be viewed in different lens, however, my focus will dwell on first hand experiences with citizens living in Yenagoa the Bayelsa State Capital and zero provision of social amenities by the incumbent administration of Governor Diri Douye, particularly water.
Precisely, an average single residence of Yenagoa spent minimum (100) hundred naira daily purchase of water. 100 for 30 days is 3,000. 3,000×12=36,000.
Secondly, Family of two spent minimum (200) two hundred naira daily. A month 6,000. Yearly 72.000.
Thirdly, Family of three spent minimum (300) three hundred naira daily. A month 9,000. Yearly 108,000.
Lastly, Family of four spent minimum (400) four hundred naira daily. A month 12,000. Yearly 144.000.
Extensively, A single person spent minimum 144, 000 for purchase of water in four years in Bayelsa State.
Family of two spent minimum 288,000 in four years.
Family of three spent minimum 432,000 in four years.
Family of four spent minimum 576,000 in four years.
The above analysis shows that in the 11 years of no water supply in Bayelsa State, family of four had spent minimum 1.584.000. one million five hundred and eighty four thousand naira just for buying water 😭😭😭.
Dear Bayelsans and residence of Yenagoa, it’s pitiable and inhumane to be rough Governed by the immediate past and present administrations and their insensitivity to prioritize our welfare. The excessive abused of social contract with Bayelsans called for immediate termination. Governance is about the people, how can we make progress when only buying of water takes good some of our income. Instead of savings and planning for the future, the government has relegated Bayelsans to the lowest rank of living by instinct.
Infact, an average single residence in Yenagoa the Bayelsa State capital spent more than 100 Naira daily in buying water 😭 and you expect prosperity in such society? funny enough, supplies of the water Aboki, (Meruwa) doesn’t even pay tax hence, the business transactions amount to zero revenue generation into the state treasury.
Is a known fact the present Government has no plan to quench the hunger and continuous poverty in the land other than engaging in self enrichment mission.
The last time we experienced water reticulation in the Bayelsa State Capital Yenagoa, powered by State Government was during Chief Timipre Sylva’s tenure as Governor of Bayelsa State.
As we get closer to the gubernatorial elections, find were you belong in the statistical analysis as the election presents an opportunity for you to vote the incumbent Governor Douye Diri of PDP and continue buying water or vote Chief Timipre Sylva of APC and stand a chance to divert the water money into savings to improve your standard of living.
Vote APC
Vote Timipre Sylva.
