In every profession, the lives of individuals that achieve mainstream success in their careers, serve as inspiration to others to dream big. Journalism is no exception.
A few notable journalists have carved a niche for themselves and stand out in the Nigerian media sector.
Nigerian broadcaster, journalist, media entrepreneur, television host Kadaria Ahmed is an editor and the founder of RadioNow 93.5FM. Though born in Kano, she began her career with the BBC in London and has worked in print, radio, television, online and social media platforms.
She hosted award-winning programmes (Focus on Africa and Network Africa) while at the BBC.
Ahmed has moderated Nigeria’s presidential debate, and has also interviewed Nigeria’s decision makers on subjects relevant to the nation. The top decision makers include Muhammed Buhari, Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Ibrahim Babangida, Tonye Princewill, Babatunde Fashola, Rotimi Amaechi, Ali Baba, Oby Ezekwesili, among many others.
Fisayo Soyombo
Award-winning investigative journalist Fisayo Soyonbo is a former editor at “The Cable ” and the founder of the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ), an online publication. The native of Ogun State has tracked corruption in Nigeria’s criminal justice system, spent a few days in the police cell and has stayed as an inmate in one of the prisons in Nigeria.
The journalist has investigative reports published online.
