The Director General of National Youth Service Corps,, Brig. Gen YD Ahmed has assured that security and welfare of corps members remain top priority of the present administration.
Brig. Gen YD Ahmed, who paid a familiarisation visit on Thursday to the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp,Boro Town, Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area, Bayelsa state, commended the corps members for high level of discipline in the camp and urged them to strictly adhere to the rules and regulations of the scheme.
He charged them to take responsibility of their personal security by being vigilant at all time and also read the security tips booklet given to them.
He cautioned corps members to shun misuse of the social media and avoid posting NYSC activities on social media.
Speaking on the importance of the NYSC SAED programme, the DG encouraged them to key into SAED aimed at making them to be self reliant and future employers of labour.
He urged them to continue to participate in all camp activities and wear proper dress code at all times.
DG admonished corps members to desist from needless adventures and night journeys due to dangers on the road Impressed by the discipline and comportment of the corps members, the DG gave three fat cows to corps to celebrate their graduation from school.
Earlier, the State Coordinator, Mrs Okpalifo Obiageli Charity in her welcome remarks , briefed the Director General on camp situation and said that the corps members have adjusted to camp regimented lifestyle and have shown high level of discipline and actively participating in all camp activities.
She also informed that camp officials have sustained use of emotional intelligence in inter personal relationships on duty.
Among the entourage of the DG,include the Director, Information and Public Relations, Mr Eddy Megwa ,the Deputy Director, Special Duties, Mr Nura Umar among others.
