Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has stressed the need for innovative teaching and learning approaches.

The governor spoke yesterday when the Board of Trustees and Chief Executive Officer of Teach For All Global Network, Wendy Kopp, visited him at Lagos House, Ikeja.

“Education is the foundation upon which the future is built. Our discussions focused on the role education plays and how innovative teaching approaches can address challenges in access and quality,”

Teach For All is a global network that supports organisations in expanding opportunities, and improving access and quality in the education sector.

Sanwo-Olu noted importance of educational partnerships, adding collaborative efforts are vital to achieving long-term educational goals.

“Our government will work with global leaders in education to ensure every child in Lagos access quality learning opportunities,” he said.

Sanwo-Olu described the partnership as “a step in the right direction to reposition Lagos State as a beacon of educational excellence.

“Our vision for Lagos is one where no child is left behind. This partnership with Teach For All aligns with that vision, ensuring we can deliver not just education but transformative learning experiences for our children.”

The network’s Chief Executive Officer, Wendy Kopp, noted the impact of such collaborations, saying: “Lagos is positioned to lead innovative educational reforms in Africa. We are excited about the opportunities to work together to create a model for others to follow.”
