Sanctions against 41 Corps members: Bayelsa NYSC Camp coordinators hold strategic meetings, warn against extortion, over-socialisation with Corps members

Management of the NYSC in Bayelsa state has held a strategic meetings with Representatives of Collaborating Agencies Heads of Assignment and and NYSC staff to ensure a hitch free 2025 Batch A , Stream 2 orientation course in the state.
The State Coordinator, Mrs Okpalifo Obiageli Charity, who presided over the meetings, enjoined members to observe all extant laws and Policies guiding the orientation course.
She appealed to various Heads to work in Synergy and show leadership in all their dealings with other camp officials and corps members.
Mrs Okpalifo Obiageli Charity also stressed on self – discipline, team work and synergy with other Course participants, reiterating that negligence of duty, extortion of corps members would not be tolerated and therefore advised staff to “top their game” .
She outlined rules of engagement guiding the orientation camp and urged them to step down the information to their respective personnel before bringing them to the camp.
She reiterated that Security Personnel must report to the camp two days before the official commencement of the orientation course and to ensure that surveillance is done before the arrival of course participants.
The state coordinator stressed on security, self discipline and professionalism in handling assigned duties.
She also enjoined members to employed Emotional Intelligence and civility in handling issues, charging staff to always to look our sick corps members for prompt attention.
She warned members against over socialisation with corps members and avoid actions that may tarnish the image of the scheme.
She encouraged officials to visit camp clinic to check their vitals from time to time while in camp.
In his remark, the Camp Director ,Mr Rotimi Abiodun solicited for their cooperation and team work, promising to run an open door administration and also emphasized on warm reception of Prospective corps members and security alertness.
The Camp Director, Mr Rotimi Abiodun appealed to the staff to work in unity so as to achieve the objectives of the orientation exercise and resolving to work as a team to achieve successful orientation course.
Recall that Fourty-One (41) Corps members in Bayelsa were last week sanctioned during the 2024 Batch B, Stream 1 service year for allege cases of Misconduct.
While Fourteen others had their service year extended for alleged misconduct and violation of NYSC codes and Twenty-Seven (27) would be re-mobilised due to alleged cases of abandoned and non-completion of service.
