Ramotalahi Kareem Fires Rivers Angels to Winning Start in NWFL Super Six

Rivers Angels and Falconets striker, Ramotalahi Kareem, is steadily building a reputation as one of the most dangerous forwards in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) following her match-winning performance in the opening round of the 2026 NWFL Super Six in Port Harcourt.

The lanky and highly-rated striker was the hero for Rivers Angels as she scored the decisive third goal in her side’s thrilling 3-2 victory over FC Robo on the opening day of the championship playoff.

Kareem’s goal proved crucial in securing all three points for Rivers Angels in a fiercely contested encounter that showcased the competitiveness of the Super Six tournament.

Speaking with FAKS MEDIA after the match, the soft-spoken forward expressed delight at helping her team begin the competition on a winning note.

“As a striker, my responsibility is to score goals and help my team achieve victory. I thank God that I was able to get on the scoresheet yesterday and contribute to the team’s success,” she said.

Despite the impressive start, Kareem emphasized that Rivers Angels are not getting carried away by the victory, noting that the team has already shifted its focus to the next challenge.

“Our eyes are already on the next game. The competition is still very open and we know we must continue working hard. Our target is to win the trophy for our fans and everyone associated with Rivers Angels,” she added.

The Falconet star has continued to demonstrate why she is regarded as one of the brightest attacking talents in the women’s game, combining pace, strength, and an eye for goal. Her performance against FC Robo will undoubtedly boost Rivers Angels’ confidence as they pursue another league title.

Meanwhile, there were surprises in other matches played on the opening day of the Super Six. One of the pre-tournament favourites, Edo Queens, suffered a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Nasarawa Amazons, a result that has already shaken up expectations in the title race.

In the day’s other fixture, defending champions Bayelsa Queens were held to a 1-1 draw by determined Abia Angels , ensuring that the battle for the coveted NWFL title remains wide open after the first round of matches.

With the competition now fully underway in Port Harcourt, fans can expect more excitement, drama, and quality football as the six best teams in the country battle for supremacy and the chance to be crowned champions of Nigeria’s top-flight women’s league.
