Prosperity Cup 2025: It’s All Feeders Affair As Bayelsa Utd And NYSC Feeders Book Tickets To Next Round

A 77th minute strike by Ayeke Godbless gave Bayelsa United Feeders a two-one victory over Solid Stars FC of Yenagoa in continuation of Nigeria’s biggest grassroots football spectacle, the Bayelsa Governor’s Football Tournament tagged the Prosperity Cup in an encounter decided at the Bishop Dimieari Grammar School, BDGS playground.

Uduak Joel had put the young “Prosperity Boys” in front on 36 minutes from a beautiful finish to end the first half proceedings at one nil in favour of Bayelsa United Feeders who were clear dominance.

Solid Stars FC put up more spirited fight back and promptly got their reward in the 71st minute through Samuel Courage to level scores at one all. And with spectators expecting the game to stretch into penalty shootout, Feeders delivered a shocker as they secured a back-breaking 77th minute goal through Ayeke Godbless to secure a slim victory.

Playing at the Biogbolo Yenizue-gene centre Peace FC pipped Royal All Stars FC by a lone goal courtesy of Dennis Ernest’s 50th minute strike, while the National Youth Service Corp, NYSC Feeders edged out Mountain of Fire Ministry, MFM FC by two goals to one at the same venue to advance to the next round.

Earlier on at the Tombia venue, a resilient Akenfa FC stunned high-scoring Advance Dreams FC 3-2 on penalty kicks after a barren draw in regulation time. Playing at the Kpansia Centre, Creek Haven FC humbled Anyamalem FC by three goals to one to book a place in the next round of the tournament.

In the star match of the day at the Kpansia centre, enterprising and energetic Afini FC spanked a youthful Corinthians side two nil to confirm their supremacy over the Biogbolo-based side in the competition.
