President Tinubu Backs Nigeria’s Para Athletes, Commends NSC Leadership as Commonwealth Games Begins.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his goodwill and best wishes to Nigeria’s para athletes participating in the ongoing Commonwealth Games, expressing confidence that they will once again make the country proud through outstanding performances.
The President’s message was conveyed to osprimetv in Abuja by his Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on People Living with Disabilities, Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa, who said President Tinubu is optimistic that Team Nigeria’s para athletes will continue their tradition of excellence on the international stage.
According to Hon. Abba Isa, the President is confident that the Nigerian contingent possesses the talent, determination, and resilience required to deliver another memorable outing at the Games.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu sends his warm wishes to all our para athletes representing Nigeria at the Commonwealth Games. He believes in their abilities and is confident they will once again make the nation proud, just as they have consistently done over the years,” he said.
He noted that Nigeria’s para athletes have remained one of the country’s greatest sporting success stories, winning medals consistently at the Paralympic Games, Commonwealth Games, African Games, and other major international competitions.
“Our para athletes have produced some of the highest number of medals in Nigeria’s sporting history. They have become symbols of determination, resilience, and excellence. We are confident that this Commonwealth Games will not be different, and we expect them to once again fly the Nigerian flag high,” Hon. Abba Isa stated.
The Presidential aide urged the athletes to remain focused throughout the competition, compete with discipline, and demonstrate the fighting spirit that has earned Nigerian para sports global recognition.
He also acknowledged the sacrifices made by the coaches, technical officials, medical personnel, and administrators who have worked tirelessly to prepare the athletes for the Games.
Hon. Abba Isa further used the opportunity to commend the leadership of the National Sports Commission (NSC), led by its Chairman, Mallam Shehu Dikko, and the Director General, Hon. Bukola Olopade, for what he described as the renewed commitment to the development of sports in Nigeria.
According to him, President Tinubu is pleased with the direction of sports administration under the current NSC leadership, noting that the support being provided to athletes and sports federations is already producing positive results.
“The President appreciates the efforts of the Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Mallam Shehu Dikko, and the Director General, Hon. Bukola Olopade. Their dedication, reforms, and commitment to Nigerian sports are evident, and the progress being recorded across different sporting disciplines is encouraging.
“The administration remains committed to providing an enabling environment for our athletes to succeed. The President believes that with the current leadership of the National Sports Commission, Nigerian sports will continue to witness greater achievements both in Africa and on the global stage,” he added.
He expressed optimism that the country’s para athletes would once again justify the confidence reposed in them by delivering exceptional performances and contributing significantly to Nigeria’s medal haul at the Commonwealth Games.
As the competition continues, millions of Nigerians will be looking forward to another successful campaign from the para athletes, whose remarkable achievements over the years have made them one of the nation’s most dependable sources of international sporting glory.
