Para Games: Champion Igali Applauds Victorious Team Bayelsa For Retaining Title
The honourable commissioner for Youth and Sports Development Bayelsa State, Champion Daniel Igali has commended the Bayelsa State Para Athletes at the just concluded 2nd edition of the National Para Games in Abuja, for their excellent performance.
The Defending champions, Team Bayelsa Para contingents won 40 GOLD, 28 SILVER and 22 BRONZE in total to retain its national crown.
Champion Igali who was in Abuja to render his support expressed satisfaction with the performance of the athletes.
The World and Olympic champion also commended the Bayelsa State Government led by Governor Douye Diri and his deputy Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo for making necessary logistics available which enhanced the optimal performance of the team.
“I’m really elated, of cause we prepared really hard as a Nigeria has come to know Bayelsa State priced itself in putting maximum efforts in our athletes”.
“The State Governor who was a former commissioner for Youth and Sports understands the importance of motivation for our athletes that’s why our athletes didn’t just top the medal table but dominated everything”.
“The athletes have done well I need to give kudos to them for their doggedness and also to the coaches”.
“Once again I want to specially thank the Bayelsa State Government for ensuring that the most vulnerable people in our society are properly taken care of”.
Similarly, Champion Igali lauded the support and prayers of the good people of Bayelsa back home and hints of the youth and sports ministry commitment to continue being a good ambassador of the State.
