Opinion: WIKE’S DESPERATION EXPOSED: THE SNAKE STRIKES AGAIN, BUT GOVERNOR FUBARA REMAINS UNMOVED!

The Ijaw Nation Development Group (Ijaw Peoples Assembly) raises the alarm over the desperate and unrelenting antics of former Governor Nyesom Wike, who has made every conceivable attempt to undermine, sabotage, and forcefully remove the duly elected Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara.
It is now evident that Wike’s frustration has reached boiling point. Having failed in his numerous plots to orchestrate the impeachment of the Governor, he has now resorted to senseless provocations and divisive political maneuvers.
His recent visit to Abalama, a historically significant Ijaw community, is nothing but a shameless act of desperation, a calculated effort to stir discord and deceive the public.
The Ijaw Nation will not sit idly by while Wike continues his treacherous game. The truth remains that Wike’s political ambitions have been shattered—his once unchecked power has crumbled, and his influence is diminishing by the day.
Rivers State is no longer his private estate! The people of Rivers State have seen through his deception, and they will never allow him to manipulate their destiny for his selfish interests.
Let it be known that the Ijaw Nation is not a people to be toyed with. We have been pillars of strength in the creation and sustenance of Rivers State, and we will not allow any individual—no matter how power-drunk—to erase our sacrifices or diminish our relevance.
It is particularly insulting and disgraceful that a man who climbed to power on the shoulders of the Ijaw people now dares to disrespect, insult, and seek to destabilize our heritage and leadership. Wike should take a hard look in the mirror and recognize that his reign is over. His constant attempts to create chaos, divide the people, and manipulate the political system have FAILED!
We issue a strong and final warning to Nyesom Wike:
- Cease and desist from your reckless and provocative actions immediately.
-
Stop inciting division and instability in Rivers State.
-
Accept that Rivers State has moved on and that your era of manipulation is OVER.
Furthermore, we call on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to rein in Wike before his reckless actions ignite political turmoil and threaten Nigeria’s fragile democracy. Rivers State cannot afford another round of political crisis engineered by a bitter and power-hungry former governor.
The Ijaw Nation Development Group (INDG/IPA) remains resolute and unwavering in our commitment to the peace, unity, and progress of Rivers State. We stand solidly behind Governor Siminalayi Fubara, a man of wisdom and composure, who has refused to be drawn into Wike’s web of political madness.
Let it be clear: Rivers State belongs to the people, not to one man’s ego. The Ijaw Nation will never bow to intimidation, and we will not allow the enemies of progress to derail the future of our great state.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
