‘One-touch’ Prince Dube To Rescue Warriors Again?
The Warriors technical team will be hoping Azam striker Prince Dube retains his ‘Midas Touch’ when Zimbabwe plays Botswana and Zambia in back-to-back Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers next month.
With Zimbabwe staring at defeat after falling 1-2 to Algeria during an AFCON qualifier on 16 November at the National Sports Stadium (NSS) with a few minutes remaining, Dube was introduced for Tendayi Darikwa and scored with his first touch.
The match ended 2-2, taking Zimbabwe to 5 points after 4 games, second behind Algeria which has already secured a place at the 2022 finals.
The Warriors play The Zebras of Botswana on 25 March at a venue to be advised before hosting Chipolopolo of Zambia at NSS on 29 March at 9 PM.
Both Zimbabwe’s remaining matches are must-wins if the Warriors are to remain in control of qualification for a record-breaking third successive time for the finals.
Zambia host Algeria before travelling to Zimbabwe while Botswana will play away to Algeria after playing the Warriors.
