Ole Gunnar Solskjaer praises three Man Utd players from much-changed Leicester line-up

Manchester United were beaten by Leicester on Tuesday night.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has praised three players after Manchester United lost to Leicester, handing Manchester City the Premier League title.

The Red Devils took on the Foxes on Tuesday – just two days after beating Aston Villa.

The Norwegian ended up making 10 changes to the side that won 3-1 over Dean Smith’s men, with Mason Greenwood the only one retaining his spot.

Anthony Elanga was handed a debut while Amad was given a chance to shine but Leicester came out victorious.

Luke Thomas scored his first goal for the Foxes while Caglar Soyuncu headed home a thumping winner in the second-half.

It saw Leicester take home all three points to consolidate a top-four finish while Manchester City were handed the Premier League title as a result of United’s loss.

It means with three games to go, Pep Guardiola’s side are 10 points clear of the Red Devils and cannot be reached.

But despite the result, Solskjaer has praised three players with Nemanja Matic and Amid gaining plaudits, two players who do not regularly start.

And United’s goalscorer Greenwood was also on his manager’s good list after another fine performance.

“You see the leadership of Nemanja. He was absolutely top out there,” he said.

“The young kid, Amad, did really well. Mason, again, he looked like a seasoned professional out there. He’s only 19 and the way he’s played today, very, very good.”

Solskjaer had been given less than 48 hours to get his side ready for the game on Tuesday after Villa on Sunday while United also have to play Liverpool on Thursday.

And the Red Devils coach was not best pleased with the scheduling of the Premier League.

“You can’t play Thursday, Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday. It’s impossible.

“That’s the reason why we had to make these changes, because it’s just unheard of.

“Got to say it again, if this game was tomorrow, no problem, and we had the next one on Saturday.

“But this is impossible for the players to perform at this level, Thursday night, Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday. Impossible.”
