Ole Gunnar Solskjaer leaves Man Utd fans in hysterics with ‘Mr Bean reaction’ to goal
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer left fans in stitches with his reaction to Edinson Cavani’s equaliser in the Europa League final, drawing comparisons with Mr Bean on social media
Edinson Cavani popped up with a vital equaliser in Manchester United‘s Europa League final clash with Villarreal – and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s reaction left fans in hysterics.
United are taking on Unai Emery‘s La Liga outfit in Gdansk, with Solskjaer bidding to win his first trophy since returning to the club as manager in December 2018.
That bid got off to the worst start imaginable, however, when Gerard Moreno fired Villarreal in front after 29 minutes.
Moreno got on the end of Dani Parejo’s inviting cross into the box and converted past David de Gea to break the deadlock, leaving United trailing at the half-time break.
The Red Devils had it all to do after the interval, and 10 minutes into the second half Cavani levelled proceedings by sweeping the ball home from close range.
It was a crucial moment for United and Solskjaer, whose hilarious reaction on the touchline drew comparisons with Mr Bean on Twitter.
One fan wrote: “Solskjær with his Mr Bean impression there lol”.
Another joked: “[He] Doesn’t want to celebrate has to wait for the var check like all of us”.
A third said: “He’s not impressed yet lol”.
While one user simply put: “This is gonna be a meme for years”.
Before his equaliser in Poland, Cavani was spotted arguing with Solskjaer on the touchline during the first half of Wednesday’s Europa League final.
One supporter shared footage of the United boss ranting at his star striker, who threw his arms up in apparent frustration with his manager’s advice.
Cavani, who recently put pen to paper on a one-year extension at Old Trafford, scored 16 goals in 38 games for United this season.
