Okpebholo names six Commissioner-designates, seeks Assembly’s approval
Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo submitted a list of six Commissioner-nominees to the State House of Assembly on Tuesday for screening and confirmation.
This was contained in a letter by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Umar Musa Ikhilor, dated 7 January 2025, and addressed to the Speaker of the House, Blessing Agbebaku.
The names of the six Commissioner-nominees are: Paul Nosayaba Ohonbamu, Washington Osa Osifo, Paddy Iyamu, Lucky Eseigbe, Andrew ljegbai, and Marie Olabisi Idaomi.
Ohonbamu was a two-time State lawmaker and former Commissioner for Information and Orientation during the first tenure of the immediate past Governor Godwin Obaseki, while Osifo was a former Commissioner for Education during the administration of Adams Oshiomhole.
“At the instance of His Excellency, the Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, I write to forward for your consideration and confirmation, the underlisted names as Commissioner designates,” the letter said in part.
