Okonjo-Iweala, Dangote, others to attend Lekki investment summit
Tagged: ‘Lekki Investment Trade and Summit’, it will have Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, as guest of honour, and speakers including: President of Dangote Industries Ltd, Aliko Dangote; Advisor of Port of Rotterdam, Mark Benjamins; Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Adeniyi Adebayo; Executive Director, International Trade Centre, Pamela Coke-Hamilton and Chairman, Nigerian Exchange Group, Abimbola Ogunbanjo.
Other are: Nigeria’s Ambassador to Greece, Nimi Akinkugbe; Chief Executive Officer, Chapel Hill Denham, Bolaji Balogun; Founder, The Chair Centre Group, Ibukun Awosika and Co-Head of Oil Trading at Trafigura Group, Ben Luckock.
According to Marketing Manager, Lekki Free Trade Zone, Tomiwa Idowu, the summit, which is going to be a yearly event, is aimed at bringing together key players in international trade, finance, manufacturing and logistics to connect, collaborate and effectively position Lekki as Africa’s main hub for investment, trade and development.
She said it is expected to host 12 exhibitors, 27 speakers and panelists from 14 sectors, 830 in-person delegates from over 150 global organisations and 2,000 virtual attendees from over 50 countries.
Idowu noted that the summit, which is supported by an advisory board of thought leaders and investment bankers, will offer a unique space where viable ideas are explored, investments mobilised, and collaborations formed across various sectors and geographies.
She said the event, which is developed as an ecosystem building initiative, offers engaging activities such as: bilateral meetings, public private partnerships, trade workshops, exhibition, one-to-one meetings, factory tours, whitepaper deliberations and many opportunities to collaborate with the investors and entrepreneurs shaping the future of African commerce.
