Okara rues Bayelsa Queens draw with Rivers Angels
Bayelsa Queens Football Club at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa, played a 1-1 draw with visiting Rivers Angels Football Club in a MatchDay 5 encounter of the Nigeria Women Football League Premiership.
The Prosperity Girls , were complacent from the blast of the whistle as the Port Harcourt Girls scored an early goal in the 3 minutes through Monturayo Ezekiel to silence the home team supporters.
The home team upped their game searching for the equalizer but the defense and the goalkeeper of Rivers Angels thwarted the efforts of the Prosperity Girls to end the first half one-nil in their favour.
On resumption of the second half, Bayelsa Queens looked more hungrier and their pressure on the backline of Rivers Angels paid of when Rose Ekong scored the eqaulizer in the 55 minutes of play.
Speaking after the game in Yenagoa, on Wednesday,Technical Adviser Bayelsa Queens FC, Domo Okara said “my girls would have wrapped up the game but they threw away so many goal scoring opportunities, don’t forget Rivers Angels are a good side and they punctured our game plan by their delay tactics when they netted the early goal”.
“But I must give kudos to my girls because they never allowed that early goal to demoralized them, we will go back to the drawing board and plug all the loop holes witnessed in the match and be well prepared for their next game against FC Robo Queens on the 20th of December, 2022 in Lagos”, Okara added.
