NYG 2025: Team Bayelsa Departs Yenagoa to Uyo for Zonal Elimination.
Team Bayelsa has departed Yenagoa for Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital for the Zonal Elimination for the National Youths in Asaba, Delta State slated from 26th through the 6th of September, 2025.
Team Bayelsa led by Acting Director of Sports, Mr. Andrew Aye left Yenagoa with ten sports male and female which include Abula, Softball, Beach Volleyball, Cricket, Basketball, Volleyball, Hockey, Handball and Football.
Bayelsa will be aiming to qualify in all the sports in order to give the state good representation in the youth version of the National Sports Festival in Delta State.
The elimination rounds for these team sports will run from August 15th through 19th of August, 2025 with a contingent strength of about 250 comprising 164 athletes, team officials, securities, drivers, media personnels and Secretaries.
Addressing the contingent, Acting Director of Sports, Mr. Andrew Aye, emphasized that Bayelsa is fully prepared for the zonal elimination. “Our target is to qualify in all sports, maintaining that Bayelsa would excel in the games.
We have carefully selected our strongest athletes and coaches to ensure we perform at our best,” he stated.
