NPFL Matchday 4: Enyimba Win Away, Plateau United Stun Remo Stars, Ahmed Musa Scores for Pillars

Enyimba recorded their first away victory of the season with a 2-0 win over Bayelsa United at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa, on Sunday in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

After a cagey affair for much of the game, Chidera Michael struck in the 76th minute to put the People’s Elephant ahead, before Kalu Nweke sealed the win nine minutes later.

At the Sani Abacha Stadium, Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa grabbed the only goal as Kano Pillars edged Rangers 1-0 to register their first win of the campaign.

Defending champions Remo Stars suffered their first defeat of the season, falling 2-0 to Plateau United in Jos. Tarabina Biweribo opened the scoring in the 63rd minute before Stanley Joseph’s red card left Remo a man short.

Mafeng Pam then doubled the hosts’ advantage two minutes later.

In Port Harcourt, Rivers United condemned Shooting Stars to another defeat, with Ubong Friday netting the decisive goal 18 minutes from time.

Warri Wolves and Kwara United played out a goalless draw in Ozoro, while Nasarawa United edged Wikki Tourists 1-0 courtesy of Garba Mohammed’s first-half strike.

Abia Warriors continued their fine form, beating Katsina United 1-0 in Umuahia thanks to Somiari Alalibo’s goal, while Ikorodu City claimed a 2-0 win over Barau FC at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, with Joseph Arumala and Ayomide Cole on the scoresheet.

Elsewhere, Kun Khalifat defeated El-Kanemi 3-1 to wrap up the weekend action.
