‘NO’: JURGEN KLOPP SAYS HE WON’T BE STARTING LIVERPOOL MAN AGAINST BURNLEY ON WEDNESDAY
Jurgen Klopp has said that Ozan Kabak will not be playing for Liverpool against Burnley on Wednesday, when asked by the Liverpool Echo.
Kabak has now missed out on playing in Liverpool’s last three matches since picking up an injury problem.
And Klopp was asked about the 21-year-old after Liverpool’s win over West Bromwich Albion.
“Ozan, no,” Klopp said, when asked if the central defender would feature against Burnley or in Liverpool’s last game of the season.
“From the long-term injured, and unfortunately Ozan is a long-term, nobody is coming back I don’t think.”
That news has to be considered a blow for Liverpool, whose defence hasn’t been particularly secure without him.
The Reds have actually won their last three matches to propel themselves back into Champions League contention.
However, there have been shaky moments at the back within those games.
Kabak was in decent form when he was in Liverpool’s side, but he may now have played his last game for the club.
It is not yet certain whether Kabak’s loan move will be made permanent in the summer.
In another bad bit of news for Liverpool, Klopp did suggest that Diogo Jota’s season is also over.
“Diogo, I don’t know actually,” he added. “It’s not too serious but how it always is, you have to wait how it develops and heals.
“It’s a little bone in the foot and we have to see. I think he will be in a boot for a few weeks or so.
“When he gets out the boot, the doctors can check how it is has developed, how far the progress is.”
