Arsenal are set to announce their new intake of academy scholars for the 2022-2023 season in the coming days.

 

Allnigeriasoccer.com exclusively reported more than five months ago that goalkeeper Brian Okonkwo was offered a scholarship deal by the Gunners.

 

 

 

Arsenal youth team expert Jeorge Bird has now confirmed that the Nigerian teenager is part of Arsenal’s new scholarship intake.

 

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that there was no doubt that Brian Okonkwo was going to accept the offer as he wants to be in the same environment as his older brother, Arthur, who was the third choice goalkeeper for Arsenal’s first team last season.

 

Brian Okonkwo has joined Arsenal U18 squad on a fulltime basis with effect from July 1, 2022.

 

Last season, the 2005-born glovesman received three call-ups for U18 Premier League matches against Reading, Birmingham City and Fulham while still a schoolboy, and was also a non-playing substitute against West Ham United in the U18 Premier League Cup.
