Nigeria: Kano Proposes N147.9b for 2021 Fiscal Year
Kano state government on Tuesday announced a proposed budget of N147.9 billion (147,935,302,948) for its 2021 fiscal year.
The budget tagged ” “Budget for Economic Recovery and Sustainable Development,” is made up of capital expenditure at N74,661,312,950 with recurrent expenditure at N73,273,989,998.
Presenting the budget estimates before the state assembly, the state governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje said the budget reflects the administration’s vision for diversification of the state sources of revenue with a view to laying a solid foundation that will guide its pursuit of development objectives.
A breakdown of the budget showed that the Education sector has over N37 Billion representing 25% of the total budget, health care delivery service has over N25 Billion representing 17% of the total budget.
In his remarks, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Abdullaziz Gafasa assured the governor of timely passage of the budget to enable unhindered execution of projects for the well being of the state.
