New Nine-Storey Civil Servants Secretariat Excites TUC Boss

The State Chairman of the Trade Union Congress, TUC, Dr. Laye Julius has expressed joy over the groundbreaking of the nine-story new state secretariat for civil servants by the Bayelsa State Government.
Dr. Julius witnessed the groundbreaking ceremony of the nine-storey edifice alongside some labour leaders in the state.
The TUC Boss in an interview with journalists at the sidelines of the groundbreaking ceremony, described the project as a landmark achievement that will significantly improve the working conditions of the state civil servants.
He lauded the governor for his unwavering commitment towards civil servants in the state in the past five years, noting that the new secretariat is a testament to the prosperity administration’s dedication to creating a conducive and healthy working environment for workers in Bayelsa.
According to him, the new edifice will ensure that civil servants have a conducive office environment in order to enhance and improve production, pointing out that previously, directors, permanent secretaries and civil servants eat in shanties.
He emphasized that the new secretariat will provide a modern, eco-friendly, and well-equipped workspace, fostering efficiency and innovation amongst civil servants, maintaining that the state’s helmsman has continued to prioritize the welfare of civil servants, citing the various projects inaugurated during his fifth anniversary celebration as evidence of his commitment.
The TUC boss who highlighted the importance of the structure, asserted that the building would improve productivity and morale, stating that the facility would address the long-standing challenge faced by civil servants in the state, appreciating the governor for giving attention to the plights of workers in the state.
He also praised the governor for ensuring that the project is fully funded, with 30% of the N46 billion project sum already released to the contractors and an additional 20% set to be disbursed soon, urging civil servants to reciprocate the government’s gesture by redoubling their efforts and commitment in the delivery of their services.
