Winner of BBNaija season six, Hazel Oyeze Onou, popularly known as Whitemoney, has won NET Honours 2022 Most Popular BBNaija Star.

Announcing the winner of the category on Friday, July 1, 2022, Whitemoney beat his fellow Big Brother Naija housemates Liquorose, Tega, Angel, and Boma, to clinch the prestigious award.

Using data for NET Honours, sourced from a comprehensive database of over eight million users who have engaged with Netng via the websites, social media accounts, and email newsletters, Whitemoney enjoyed the Most Popular BBNaija Star in the last 12 months calendar period.

Whitemoney entered the BBNaija house on July 24, 2021, as one of the 26 housemates jostling for the show’s ₦90 million grand prize. He became a fan’s favourite, showing forth his cooking skills and his vast range of skills from barbing to singing.

In an exclusive interview with NETng, Whitemoney described cooking as a passion and a lifestyle.

“In the house, the kitchen and the cleaning is what really kept me going. Two days I was not in that kitchen like you could tell that this guy is not functioning.”

Born on July 6, 1992, Whitemoney grew up in Kaduna State but moved to Lagos in search of opportunities. There he ventured into many businesses and learnt different skills like photography, barbering, repairing generators and importation of shoes.

Aside from cooking, Whitemoney has passion for music and has released a few singles before joining the BBNiaja house.

In 2018, Whitemoney released the single ‘Rosemary and Your Life.’ Shortly after the show, on December 3, 2021, Whitemoney released another single, ‘Selense’, produced by Masterkraft. On May 13, 2022, he released another single, ‘Na We-We.’

With 1.7 million Instagram followers, Whitemoney has bagged several ambassador deals.

Less than two months after winning the show, on November 19, 2021, the Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, appointed Whitemoney as the State’s Creative Art Ambassador. He is equally the brand ambassador of GOtv and Tecno Camon 18.

Since the inception of NET Honours in 2013 by NETng, the award has become one of Africa’s verified data-based awards that celebrate Nigerias’ favourite celebrities and public figures for their contribution towards shaping the Nigerian entertainment industry.

Speaking on the objectives of NET Honours, Femi Falodun, CEO of Info Digital Africa (ID Africa), owners of NETng, Neusroom, 234Star, and Orin, said
